Built for Scale
Starting in 2019, we’ve rolled out the world’s biggest network of Mushroom® Packaging plants. With more openings scheduled in Europe and across the pond in the USA, you could even say we’re growing like mycelium itself.
Beatles guitarist and committed Buddhist George Harrison used to live in Esher. And we’ve now done our bit for the town’s Karma by making it the base for our HQ and the UK’s first mycelium-based packaging plant.
With over 7,000 square feet dedicated to Mushroom® Packaging, Esher felt like a statement of intent when we opened there – to take this new material to the market at scale.
Now it is at the cutting edge of prototyping and Research & Development but with a very healthy 1million capacity.
A village in the Greater Nottingham area, Attenborough shares its name with the legendary broadcaster and journalist David.
The village was home to the UK’s largest Mushroom® Packaging facility until we opened Beeston.
Now Mushroom 4 has been repurposed to house our new e-commerce venture making off-the-shelf Mushroom® Packaging, ranging from gift boxes to corner protectors.
Sofia is one of the oldest capital cities in Europe, extant for 7000 years and recorded since the Romans took possession in 29BC.
Today it is a thoroughly modern city with a vibrant tech start-up scene and an appropriate home to Mushroom 3, Europe's largest Mushroom® Packaging plant, matching Beeston in the UK at 15,000sq ft.
Our first inoculation plant, the Beeston facility is where we can now combine local feedstock (mostly hemp) with mycelium cultures producing millions of kilos of raw material. It is a game-changer in the history of Mushroom ®Packaging for Magical Mushroom Company® and its customers.
Our new pasteurisation equipment will allow regrinds and returns too, another step forward in our sustainability journey.
The busy bees of Beeston consider their town a hive of activity, although the name probably derives from the Anglo-Saxon for “bent grass.”
And the 15,000sq ft hybrid plant Mushroom 2 will certainly be busy with a multimillion capacity on top as well as being our headquarters.
