Idra Water brings Mushroom® Packaging to Italy and beyond

Idra Water is a company based in Italy. Set up by Fabrizio Boscolo and Valentina Vecchia, it wants to give people the opportunity to drink pure, safe water while producing zero waste.
Drinking water should not cause pollution.
The MY idra bottle eliminates the use of petroleum-derived materials and disposable filters by using a ceramic filter. Crucially it is made to last forever.
Following other new European clients, Idra is delighted to bring Mushroom® Packaging to Italy in conjunction with Magical Mushroom Company®. Thanks to Valentina and Fabrizio, more plastic has been removed from the supply chain: we look forward to working with Idra again.
Problem
For months, the Idra Water team had been searching for the perfect material to provide protection for their products during shipping, but at the same time 100% plastic-free and compostable.
Mushroom-based mycelium packaging produced by Magical Mushroom Company® was the best affordable solution.
Solution
The flexible, strong Mushroom ®Packaging – made from mycelium, an underground network of fungal threads and recycled hemp - was stress, drop and vibration tested to the highest standards. It is home compostable, biodegrading in 40 days whilst enriching the soil of planet earth.

Customers touch the unique velvety surface of Mushroom ®Packaging and feel connected to the Earth - mycelia are the biggest organisms on our planet - before enjoying the innovative 100% plastic-free water bottle.
The beautiful packaging can even be reused by the customer as a vase thanks to the flower paper included inside.
