Candle Shack Group is Europe’s largest supplier to home fragrance SMEs, with businesses in the UK and Netherlands. Founded by Duncan and Cheryl MacLean in 2010, originally as a luxury candle manufacturer, the business now specialises in helping home fragrance brands to transition to plant-based candles that really work. With around 30,000 active customers across Europe, the business aims to double in size over the next three years.

CORE ECOLOGICAL VALUES

Around 90% of all rigid/luxury packaging we sell is sourced in the far East. That’s a lot of ‘air’ to ship. It’s great to be able to source UK made packaging that can deliver unique USPs.

Candle packaging is expensive to have branded. The innovative solution we developed with MMC allows even the smallest of brands to create low runs of beautiful and sustainable packaging.

PROBLEM

Other than folding cartons or tubes, luxury/protective packaging has always been sourced from the far east. This makes it difficult for us to support smaller brands who cannot meet the MOQs of branded packaging. This solution, allows brands of all sizes to create packaging that offers great protection, has good sustainability credentials and can be produced in very small MOQs.

SOLUTION

Worked with us on exclusivity within home fragrance supplies, to prevent our less-innovative copy-cat competitors from capitalizing on our ideas and efforts.

RESULT

we hope to launch several additional shapes as the category grows. We only launched last week, so it will likely take time for people to trial and switch to this packaging, as many have invested in packaging solutions already. But…I am confident that a reasonable amount of customers will adopt this solution.
