Partnering with Magical Mushroom Company®, Candle Shack introduced Mushroom® Packaging to support their mission of creating sustainable home fragrance products.

THE PROBLEM
SOURCING UK PRODUCED BIODEGRADABLE PACKAGING
Luxury or protective candle packaging is often sourced from the Far East, resulting in significant environmental costs due to shipping.
For smaller home fragrance brands, meeting the minimum order quantities (MOQs) required for branded packaging has been a challenge, limiting their access to high-quality, sustainable solutions.
Candle Shack needed a packaging option that was affordable, offered strong sustainability credentials, and could be produced in small MOQs to support brands of all sizes.
THE SOLUTION
MUSHROOM TECHNOLOGY FOR CANDLE PROTECTION
Candle Shack partnered with Magical Mushroom Company® to develop Mushroom® Packaging, made from mycelium and recycled agricultural waste.
This innovative material is biodegradable, compostable, and locally produced in the UK, significantly reducing environmental impact. The bespoke design offers superior protection for candles while providing an eco-friendly alternative to traditional packaging.
By working exclusively with MMC for the home fragrance category, Candle Shack ensures their customers receive unique, sustainable packaging solutions that help their products stand out in the market.
THE RESULTS
LUXURY ECO-FRIENDLY CANDLE PACKAGING
Candle Shack successfully launched Mushroom® Packaging as an innovative, sustainable solution for their customers, enabling even small brands to access luxury, eco-friendly packaging without the need for large MOQs.
The locally produced packaging has reduced the environmental footprint associated with importing from the Far East, aligning with Candle Shack’s ecological values.
This collaboration has set the stage for future innovation, with additional packaging shapes in development as the category grows. Candle Shack is confident that Mushroom® Packaging will gain widespread adoption among its customers, helping the industry transition to planet-friendly practices.
