Seedlip, the world’s first distilled non-alcoholic spirits brand, is committed to celebrating and protecting the natural world. Blended and bottled in England, their sophisticated alcohol-free spirits are crafted through a bespoke maceration, distillation, and filtration process, producing complex and refined flavours.
As part of their mission to promote sustainability, Seedlip partnered with Magical Mushroom Company® to create innovative mycelium-based packaging for their Spice 94 gift set. This sustainable solution aligns with Seedlip’s vision to reduce waste and champion nature’s ability to solve global challenges.

THE PROBLEM
Seedlip wanted to further their commitment to sustainability by introducing greener packaging for their gifting range, starting with the Seedlip Spice 94 gift set.
The challenge was to eliminate excess cardboard and plastic from their packaging while maintaining the premium aesthetic expected of their products.
Seedlip needed a solution that was durable, eco-friendly, and reflective of their commitment to protecting the planet.
THE SOLUTION
Seedlip collaborated with Magical Mushroom Company® to develop Mushroom® Packaging for their Spice 94 gift set, using cutting-edge mycelium technology pioneered by Ecovative Design.
The packaging was grown from biomass and mycelium in an environmentally controlled vertical grow system, mimicking nature’s process of breaking down crop fibres to form durable structures.
This sustainable packaging solution was produced within a week and offered both strength and beauty, complementing the sophistication of the Seedlip gift set.
THE RESULT
Seedlip launched their most sustainable gifting solution yet, with Mushroom® Packaging that is completely home-compostable, breaking down naturally within 40 days and enriching the soil.
The packaging’s unique look and feel resonated with customers, while the eco-friendly innovation further solidified Seedlip’s leadership in sustainability.
