Renais is a super premium gin company co-founded by Alex and Emma Watson, deeply rooted in the people, produce, and provenance of Burgundy, France. Renais takes pride in its carbon-neutral certification and its mission to elevate the gin-drinking experience while inspiring sustainability.
To align with their values, Renais partnered with Magical Mushroom Company® to develop bespoke mycelium packaging for their Heritage Gift-set. This collaboration reflects Renais’ dedication to environmental responsibility and premium design.
Renais is the only gin brand currently using mycelium-based packaging, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from consumers and setting a new standard in sustainable luxury. This s the second collaboration between the two companies.

THE PROBLEM
As a certified carbon-neutral product, Renais needed packaging that had no adverse impact on the environment while protecting their heavy glass bottles during transit.
The challenge was to find a sustainable solution that matched the brand’s super premium aesthetic and met the expectations of eco-conscious consumers.
Traditional materials like plastic and polystyrene were not an option, as they conflicted with Renais’ commitment to sustainability and innovation.
THE SOLUTION
Magical Mushroom Company® developed a bespoke mycelium packaging solution for Renais’ Heritage Giftset.
This packaging, grown from a mixture of mycelium and agricultural waste, is 100% biodegradable, leaving no harmful residue in the soil or oceans. The production process emits no toxic chemicals, aligning perfectly with Renais’ environmental goals.
Not only does the packaging provide robust protection for Renais’ bottles during transit, but it also enhances the premium presentation of the Heritage Giftset with its unique, natural aesthetic.
