Biodigestable
Compatible with food waste collection at end of life for anaerobic digestion processing; which turns waste slurry into a Biogas alternative to Electricity or Gas.
Are you still using EPS, PE, XPS or die-cut packaging inserts? If the damage to the environment isn’t enough, then the £200 per tonne tax rate for packaging with less than 30% recycled plastic will persuade you the time is right to switch to the cost-effective, scalable natural alternative.
Our Mushroom® Packaging is fully biodegradable in around 45 days. It can be added to food waste, broken down and dispersed in the garden, even mixed with seeds to grow wild flowers. When kept in dry conditions, it has a shelf life of up to 30 years.
Our packaging performs just as well as polystyrene, avoids the new plastic packaging tax, and it is cost competitive with conventional foamed polymers. Our product meets the highest environmental standards for sustainability that your customers increasingly demand. These are some of the environmentally friendly features of Mushroom® Packaging:
Compatible with food waste collection at end of life for anaerobic digestion processing; which turns waste slurry into a Biogas alternative to Electricity or Gas.
When broken down into small pieces at the end of its life, our material has the ability to decompose naturally without oxygen, while going back the natural environment with no ecological harm.
Naturally water resistant and shrugs off water, our manufacturing process ensures the materials coating repels water and we also have a process of fully waterproofing.
None of the ingredients in our product are tested on animals. We are working towards our accreditation too.
The manufacture process and development of Mushroom® Packaging and its ingredients have not involved the use of any animal product by-product, or derivative.
We’re the quickest packaging material that can be produced! A high-performing packaging solution, cost-competitive, thermally insulating and no extracting fossil fuels or cutting down a tree.
We protect a host of packaging solutions for many blue-chip clients such as Raymarine that demand the same technical performance as the polystyrene we replace.
The technical benefits of our patented process are:
Mimics the conditions that the product and packaging performs during significant transit tests.
Measures the prototype’s ability to resist cross-direction crushing.
Proof our material with the correct mass has the ability to keep your product cold during transit.
A method of testing the structural integrity of our packaging from a predefined height onto a surface.
Our products pass the rigorous measurement of withstanding temperatures from 70c down to -25c.
Reduces the risk of product failure in the field by simulating the humidity conditions that products are exposed to during their lifetime.
We grow a completely natural alternative to fossil fuel-produced polystyrene and other polymers at industrial scale, in any size, shape or form. And unlike other 'compostable' packaging, ours breaks down naturally in the ground, without any help from chemicals or energy-hungry industrial composting facilities.
