The Problem
SOURCING ELEGANT, LIGHTWEIGHT, AND FULLY BIODEGRADABLE PLINTHS
SkyDiamond needed display plinths that aligned with their mission to combine luxury and sustainability.
Traditional materials like metal and plastic did not reflect their eco-conscious values or complement their groundbreaking carbon-negative diamonds.
The challenge was to design plinths that were elegant, lightweight, and fully biodegradable, creating a perfect synergy with the brand’s sustainability message.
The Solution
DESIGN & GROW PLINTHS TO PRECISE SPECIFICATIONS
Magical Mushroom Company® designed bespoke mycelium plinths for SkyDiamond, using agricultural waste bound with mycelium to form strong, biodegradable structures.
These plinths were grown in moulds to achieve precise shapes, ensuring they met the aesthetic and functional requirements of SkyDiamond’s display.
The use of mycelium and hemp not only reduced the environmental impact but also provided a natural, textured finish that complemented the diamonds’ brilliance.
